Summary – It would appear that Badger and Western Reserve are on a collision course for a district championship game, but fellow conference foes might have a say in that. Mathews has been playing really well in the second half of this season and could make a run to the district semifinals against Badger. You can’t rule out McDonald or Newton Falls out of that section though. Lowellville made a run to the district semifinals last year after defeating a couple of NAC teams and they have a chance to do the same again this year.

Summary – Other than Canton Central Catholic and Waterloo’s sectional semifinal game, there are clear favorites for the other three district semifinal spots. The winner of Canton CC and Waterloo will be the favorite to come out of that section, but East Canton awaits the winner that could be beaten up after the biggest sectional game (semifinal or final) in this district. Many will pick Richmond Heights, but Dalton has played one of the toughest schedules in the entire state in Division IV and they have been in these district tournament games for a long time now. Dalton would give Richmond Heights some trouble and could ultimately pull off the win. Also, this district is played at Norwayne H.S. , a school that is in the same conference as Dalton (Wayne County Athletic League).

Summary – Hannibal River has been the most consistent all season long and is going to be worthy of the top seed in this district. However, Berlin Hiland may have been playing as well as anyone in this district since the Classic in the Country. Their non-conference schedule always prepares them for tournament play and this year is no different. Some other teams to keep an eye on this district that could make some noise and cause some chaos would be Tuscarawas Central Catholic, Strasburg-Franklin, and Rosecrans. Two other teams that could be a dark horse to cause an upset could be Garaway and Shenandoah. Most likely, this could be a Hannibal River vs Berlin Hiland district championship game.
